An update about how Covid-19 is impacting Sock Drawer Heroes

We are all aware that Covid-19 is challenging the way we live our daily lives, our employment, social lives and so much more. We don’t know how long this will be going on, but are grateful for more and more online support systems popping up, people still supporting others as much as they can.

The biggest impact for us at Sock Drawer Heroes are the international exchange rates. Roughly 90% of our stock is from overseas and, as the Australian dollar drops, it means we are in a bit of a financial pickle. As much as we don’t want to change things up, we will have to in order to survive as a small business.

This means we’re going to have to put prices up across our website to reflect the increased cost of stock. This will be an ongoing process as the exchange rates fluctuate, meaning you might see the prices go up and down over the next few months. This is something we won’t be able to predict with any certainty.

We have approached this process with a lot of things weighing on our minds. We have always strived to keep our products financially accessible and are very conscious that the hardships that trans and gender diverse people face are magnified during this time. However, without implementing change now, Sock Drawer Heroes might not be sustainable on the other side of Covid-19.

Thanks for you're ongoing support, you are the real heroes.

Stay safe and look after each other,

Bec, Erin & Cat Damon
