Job Description
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about Sock Drawer Heroes’ purpose and values and is looking to be a part of a successful, growing small business that serves the trans and gender diverse community.
As a Fulfillment and Stock Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive their orders promptly and accurately.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Order fulfillment: Efficiently picking, packing, and processing online orders.
- Inventory management: Monitoring stock levels, preparing, and receiving stock.
- Quality assurance: Packing stock to our high standards and ensuring accurate product information.
- Customer service: Responding to customer inquiries via email in a timely and professional manner.
- Physical requirements: Lifting boxes and walking to the local post office (10-minute walk of 600 metres each way).
Ideal Candidate
We're seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual with:
- Experience in warehouse or retail settings
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service
- A genuine connection to and knowledge of the trans and gender diverse community
- Flexibility and availability on occasional Saturdays and during peak times such as Mardi Gras and Trans Awareness Week. Additionally, during February-March 2025 there will be a four week period we will need extra shifts covered.
Essential Criteria:
- Organisational skills: Strong time management and planning skills.
- Attention to detail: Thorough and precise approach to tasks.
- Independence: Ability to work independently.
- Efficiency: Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Customer service: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Community connection: Lived experience of using gender expression products and/or a deep connection with and knowledge of the trans and gender diverse community.
- Physical demands: Standing for extended periods, walking distances of 600 metres to post office each way, accessing shelves higher than 1.8m with the use of a step ladder and lifting moderate weights.
Desirable Criteria:
- Warehouse/retail experience: Prior experience in a similar role.
- Inventory management systems: Knowledge of inventory software and processes.
- Shopify proficiency: Familiarity with the Shopify platform.
The role may evolve if you have skills in a particular area.
