Page 2 from ‘Gay Boy’, Samuel’s first comic addressing his sexuality as a gay trans man. This page mentions Samuel’s parents and one of their reactions to him coming out as trans, an identity they were not prepared for.
Sam was always a tomboy growing up, when he started dressing more masculine, cutting his hair short, throughout high school, and then kept it short in university - his parents later told him, they thought he was gay. That it wouldn't be a shock if he had come out to them as a gay girl. He didn’t even have the words to say "I feel like a boy". Let alone, “I feel like a gay boy”. And that he is, a gay boy.
