"I created this badge as part of Stephanie Springgay and Sarah E. Truman's WalkingLab project, for a Queering the Trail walk on the Bruce Trail in Spring 2017. WalkingLab is an international research project with a goal to create a collaborative network and partnership between artists, arts organizations, activists, scholars and educators. Rupturing commonplace understandings of what it means to move, the various research projects and events activated at WalkingLab draw on new materialisms, critical race theories, and queer theories to attend to issues related to trans, geos, and affect.
These badges were initially awarded to participants in the walk, which included interventions along the way to decolonize and queer the trail.
